Q&A

  • Clients can expect diversity and spontaneity in the way my sessions are conducted. I do not believe in nor do I run my session in a one-size-fits-all model. I work with the energy and wisdom that my clients bring into the room and collective knowledge that I have gained over my years of experience to create a safe and harmonious space that invites healing. Some days we will be laughing, some days there will be tears and on many, there will be a healthy mixture of both. All ranges of emotions are welcome.

  • My education and training centered around mindfulness based therapy which is what you will experience in our time together. I enjoy working in the here and now. Working with what arises: an emotion, a thought, a bodily sensation, a need to pause and just be. I enjoy the use of mindfulness practices such as somatic (or bodily) movement, breath-work, and/or guided meditations. Additionally, the utilization of gestalt and transpersonal therapy may be seen in the room as well.

  • You are the expert. This may sound odd or even backwards as I am the one with the mental health education and training. My philosophy centers around my clients being the true expert on their lives and healing journey. You are the one beginning your mental health journey, showing up every week, working on what is discussed outside the room, and truly doing the work. I never take credit for the labor that my client’s put into their healing. I am but a humble witness and guide to your transformation.

  • Neurodivergence is a superpower. Someone who is or identifies as neurodivergent has the opportunity to see and process the world differently than others. How can I not see the beauty in that? Unfortunately, our systems are not set up to accommodate those who experience the world differently which is why it is incredibly important for me to provide neurodivergent affirming care.

  • Not to sound annoying or pretentious but I feel like it chose me. As I was on another path in life, this road presented itself for me to take. I feel incredibly honored and lucky to be doing this work.

  • I enjoy spending time with my loved ones exploring this beautiful city that we live in. In my freetime, I love crocheting sweaters, scarves, hats and summer tops. I am a sucker for a good film– especially horror, indie, and/or a period piece. To best regulate my nervous system, I like to do yoga, go for long walks, read a world-escaping fiction novel, or bake delicious desserts.

  • “I have come to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood”

    -Audre Lorde
