My therapeutic style consists of a combination of evidence based practices, trauma informed care, and a holistic approach. I am a strong believer in creating a safe, caring, and inclusive environment that can help build the pillars of resilience to empower individuals to feel in control of their emotions. I also utilize a holistic approach as I understand that we all have different pieces in life that become interconnected and can cause us to feel overwhelmed as we strive to create a balance in our physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. I also focus on including a warm and welcoming therapy style by using humor and relevant life connections to help you feel human. You can also expect me to set clear boundaries and offer you ideas to help you grow your sense of control and accountability for future life events.

Empathy and respect are two key components of my therapeutic approach. I believe establishing a safe and calming environment can help build trust between the individual and the therapist. I am here to listen to your needs and provide you guidance and feedback on your emotional needs in life and ensure that you do not feel judged or criticized. I believe that the therapeutic relationship will always continue to grow as you get to know me and I can assure you that I pour my effort into making sure you feel valued and welcomed.

We all come from different backgrounds and upbringings. Not all of us were taught the skills or felt supported to build our confidence and resilience when we face trouble in our lives. I chose to become a therapist because growing up in an immigrant rural community, I saw first hand the struggles of individuals learning a new culture, language, and facing other adversities. Along with these struggles, I also saw how cultural clashes critically impacted first generation immigrants and the sense of lack of support they encountered from their families and their community. All individuals are worthy of feeling supported and should feel cared for by others in life. I think that therapy is a mindbreaking first step for many individuals to be able to talk about their feelings and emotions without feeling criticized or alienated.

I have been working in social work for over 10 years now and throughout my experience I have worked with many first generation immigrants from all over the world. Being from an immigrant family myself, I have seen first hand how different cultural clashes can impact the way we see the world and how we see ourselves as individuals. Not all of us were taught to be open about our feelings or discuss our mental health. In my previous work, I have strongly emphasized trauma informed care with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking to promote feelings of safety, trust, empowerment, and have a strong sense of cultural awareness. I also bring strong experience in working with individuals with chronic mental health conditions and other disabilities. I have had clients with multiple coexisting conditions including neurodivergent conditions such as Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, Personality Disorder, and many more.

Staying connected, setting boundaries, and nourishing my mind and body are ways that I keep myself grounded as a therapist. I am a strong believer that in order for me to trust that you will be the best version of yourself, then I must also take accountability for being present and being the best version of myself in our sessions. I keep myself connected with loved ones and friends that uplift me and motivate me to grow in different aspects in life. We all need those people around us to make us laugh and smile, but also be there when we have bad days. I am strong in setting boundaries with my work and personal life in order to maintain a healthy balance for my own physical and mental health. I also believe it is critical to set aside time to nourish my mind and body in healthy ways such as taking time to exercise, eat healthy, and participate in activities that bring me joy in life.

Being Mexican American has deeply shaped the way I understand resilience, family dynamics, and survival. I come from a culture where strength is often shown through endurance, responsibility, and showing up for others even when it is hard. While those values can be powerful, they can also make it difficult to prioritize emotional expression or ask for support. In my work, I hold space for both. I honor cultural values while also helping clients unlearn patterns that no longer serve them. I understand the complexity of navigating multiple identities, languages, and expectations, and I approach therapy with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect.

Resilience is not about being unbreakable. It is about adaptability, self-trust, and learning how to respond to life with intention rather than survival mode. I see resilience as something that already exists within my clients, even if it feels buried or forgotten. Therapy is a space where we reconnect to that inner strength while also learning healthier ways to cope, set boundaries, and regulate emotions. Healing does not mean erasing the past. It means learning how to carry it differently.

Clients can expect consistency, honesty, and a therapist who is deeply invested in their growth. I believe in meeting clients where they are while also gently challenging patterns that keep them stuck. Over time, my goal is to help clients build confidence in themselves, develop emotional awareness, and feel more grounded in their daily lives. Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and intentional. We move at a pace that feels safe, while still honoring the work it takes to create meaningful change.
